SMS Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2026
1. Purpose of SMS Messages
Pitch MetRx uses SMS (Short Message Service) text messages exclusively for account recovery and verification purposes. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS.
When you provide your phone number for account recovery, you will receive SMS messages containing verification codes that allow you to:
- Recover access to your account when you cannot access your email
- Verify your identity during the account recovery process
- Update your email address or reset your password securely
2. Message Frequency
SMS messages are sent only when you actively request account recovery. The frequency of messages depends entirely on your use of the account recovery feature:
- You will receive one verification code per account recovery request
- Verification codes are time-limited and expire after a set period (typically 10-15 minutes)
- You may request a new verification code if needed, subject to rate limiting to prevent abuse
- We do not send unsolicited or automated messages
3. Message and Data Rates
Important: Standard message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier. You are responsible for any charges imposed by your carrier for receiving SMS messages.
Pitch MetRx does not charge you for sending SMS messages. However, your mobile carrier may charge you for:
- Receiving text messages (standard SMS rates)
- Data usage if messages are received over a data connection
- International roaming charges if you are traveling outside your home country
Please contact your mobile carrier for information about your specific messaging plan and rates.
4. Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt out of receiving SMS messages for account recovery at any time by:
- Removing your phone number: You can remove your phone number from your account settings in the Service
- Contacting us: Send an email to customerservice@pitchmetrx.com with "SMS Opt-Out" in the subject line and include your username and phone number
- Replying STOP: You may reply "STOP" to any SMS message from us to opt out (if supported by your carrier)
Important: If you opt out of SMS-based account recovery, you will need to use alternative account recovery methods (such as email-based recovery) if you lose access to your account. Removing your phone number may limit your account recovery options.
5. Message Delivery and Limitations
While we strive to ensure reliable delivery of SMS messages, we cannot guarantee:
- Immediate delivery of messages (delays may occur due to carrier issues or network problems)
- Delivery to all phone numbers or carriers (some carriers or phone numbers may not support SMS)
- Delivery in all geographic locations (SMS availability varies by country and carrier)
If you do not receive a verification code:
- Check that your phone number is correct and can receive SMS messages
- Verify that your phone has adequate signal strength
- Wait a few minutes and try requesting a new code
- Check with your carrier to ensure SMS messaging is enabled on your account
- Contact us for assistance if problems persist
6. Security and Privacy
We take the security of your phone number and verification codes seriously:
- Verification codes are generated securely and are unique to each request
- Codes expire after a short period to prevent unauthorized use
- We do not share your phone number with third parties except as necessary to provide SMS services (see our Privacy Policy)
- Your phone number is stored securely and encrypted in transit
Important Security Reminders:
- Never share your verification code with anyone
- Pitch MetRx will never ask you to provide your verification code via email, phone call, or any other method
- If you receive a verification code you did not request, contact us immediately
- Verification codes are for one-time use only
7. Third-Party Service Provider
We use Twilio, a third-party SMS service provider, to send verification codes. By using our SMS-based account recovery, you acknowledge that:
- Twilio processes your phone number and SMS delivery on our behalf
- Twilio's services are subject to their terms of service and privacy policy
- Twilio may use subprocessors to provide SMS services
- Your phone number may be processed in countries other than your country of residence
For more information about how Twilio handles your data, please review Twilio's Privacy Policy.

8. Compliance with Laws
Our SMS practices comply with applicable laws and regulations, including:
- TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act): We only send SMS messages for transactional/verification purposes with your consent
- State Privacy Laws: We comply with state privacy laws including CCPA/CPRA in California
- International Laws: We comply with applicable international data protection laws, including GDPR for users in the European Economic Area
By providing your phone number and consenting to receive SMS messages, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this SMS Policy and agree to receive verification codes via SMS.
